I am sure that you have had many letters written to you in grateful thanks in the fact that you have made many patients absolutely full of joy in the outcome of the surgery you have performed on them. It is absolutely very obvious that you are more than dedicated to your profession!!! I did not just pick up the paper or any other form of advertising and decide to have you perform my surgery. I did my homework and learned that you were the best! I must admit that I was hesitant to have anyone do laser surgery on my precious eyes, but I am now so glad that I had it done. Seeing is the self-satisfaction that I craved. You have a very professional and dedicated staff. Thanks for everything.
Meet Dr. Matthew S. Hendrickson
Dr. Matthew Hendrickson has had the privilege of caring for patients in the eye care field since 1998. As an optometric technician, ophthalmic technician, surgical technician, optometry student, and now as an optometrist, he is proud to continue to enhance his knowledge and abilities to manage a wide range of eye conditions.
Dr. Hendrickson joined Foulkes Vision Institute in 2004 as an ophthalmic technician, and with a desire to be more involved in the practice, he quickly found himself transitioning to surgical technician, assisting Dr. Richard Foulkes in LASIK, PRK, and CK. During his tenure at Foulkes Vision Institute, he had the privilege of becoming one of the few experts in operating (and analyzing the results of) the arc-scanning ultrasound device known as the Artemis 2. These experiences weren't enough, as he desired more involvement in eye care. In the fall of 2005, he (temporarily) left the practice and matriculated at Illinois College of Optometry to pursue his doctor of optometry degree.
Dr. Hendrickson’s specialty optometric training includes contact lenses, cornea, low vision rehabilitation, and primary care at the Illinois Eye Institute. He also had the honor of serving America’s veterans at VA hospitals in Newington, CT and Las Vegas, NV for his advanced care/ocular disease rotations. A pediatrics and vision therapy rotation in Fairfield, CT rounded out his optometric training. Dr. Hendrickson is excited to return to Foulkes Vision Institute and provide continued eye care.
